The VIN or part number that the tuner is currently locked to does not match the one that it is reading off the PCM. Our devices can only tune 1 vehicle at a time.
The tuner could be locked to another vehicle or the PCM in the vehicle may have been flashed by a dealership or local shop after the tune was installed, thus erasing the tune off of the ECM. If this is the case, current tuners including the GT's can be reset over the phone by calling Sales. There may be a fee associated with the reset.
Current GT Diesel and GT Gas tuners are $250 (Part Numbers: 40410, 40417, 40420, 40428) and can be done over the phone with Sales.
GTX and BDX tuners (40460B, 40470) are $200 to reset and can be done online here.
Discontinued tuners like the 40415, 40430,40440,40450, Triple Dogs, and Power Pups can no longer be reset.
- If you had your vehicle flashed by a dealer while tuned, there is no charge to unlock your device for as long as you have an invoice showing the vehicle has been flashed by a vehicle manufacturer dealer.
- If you had your vehicle’s ECU/TCU/FICM replaced while tuned, there is no charge to unlock your device for as long as you have an invoice showing the vehicle has been flashed by a vehicle manufacturer dealer.
- If your vehicle has been deemed totaled while tuned, there is no charge to unlock your device for as long as you have an insurance statement or a police report.
