How do I Unlock SCT my Device?

    IMPORTANT

    An unlock should only be purchased when:

    1.  Your device is either married/installed on a vehicle that you are no longer able to return back to stock due to not having the vehicle anymore.
    2.  You bought a used tuner that was locked.  
    3.  Your device is out of the five-vehicle unlocks. 

    Remotely unlocking your device does not add any additional features to your device.

    Note: This service is non-refundable and this service is not available in the state of California. 

    If you have a 7015 (Ford Device) then please follow the instructions below. If you have any other X4 part number then please contact our sales department to purchase the unlock and obtain an RMA for the device to be sent in to be unlocked. 

    • Click Here to purchase the unlock. 
    • Enter your device's serial number into the serial number field and click "Look Up Device." If your device is not found then you may have an older device that does not support remote unlocks. Please contact our sales department to purchase the unlock and obtain an RMA for the device to be sent in to be unlocked. 
    • Click "Continue" on the Device Found page. 
    • Enter your payment information select "Complete Purchase." 

    You will receive an email with the order/confirmation number. At this point, you are ready to unlock your device. 

    To send the unlock to your device follow the steps below.

    • Open the Device Updater on your Windows computer.
    • If you do not have the Device Updater, click here 
    • Plug the device in and then click on "Automatically Check for Updates." This option will appear on your PC, not the device itself. 
    • Once the update has finished your device is unlocked and ready to be used again. 
    • NOTE: The unlock must be done using a Windows PC. You may not use wifi to unlock the X4.

    • Power up your BDX. Please note that this will need to be done in the vehicle within the range of your wifi.
    • Scroll down to "Device Settings" and press the center button to enter the menu.
    • Select "Check For Updates" *If your device is not connected to wifi, you will be prompted to connect. 
    • Press confirm on the vehicle confirmation screen and then follow the on-screen prompts.
    • Once the update has finished, your device is unlocked and ready to be used in the vehicle again.
    • NOTE: The unlock can only be done via wifi update. You may not use the Device Updater to unlock the device.

    • Click "Continue" on the Device Found page. (If you get a message saying "Serial Number not found", that device cannot be unlocked remotely.) In that case, you can contact our Sales team to obtain an RMA number in order to send the device in to be unlocked.

    The GTX devices can be reset remotely by contacting our sales team.  There is a $150 non-refundable charge to reset a GTX.

    In order to get your device reset, or unlocked,  you will need to have the device with you and powered on when you call Sales.
